In a time of giving and spreading cheer all around, the holidays have consistently held a special place in our hearts and a dent in our wallets. It’s a time where friends and family come together to wear ugly Christmas sweaters, forget their sorrows from work, school, and living.
To commemorate the end of 2017, we spent some time with some of the InRage fam to chat about this special time of year:
Which winter holiday are you looking forward to and why?
Blackbird: Favorite holiday is Winter Solstice, the idea of the shortest day & longest night. There is a hope that comes in the days after the longest night as the light stays longer and longer each day.
Orion: Gotta love Christmas, gives me a reason to listen to nonstop Christmas music.
Victor: New Years Eve, because it is more important in Russian Tradition.
Autumn: I guess they're all special in their own way.
What is your favorite holiday song?
Autumn: "Wonderful Christmas Time" by Paul McCartney.
James Barmore: "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole.
Ebony: The Grinch theme song! Both the original and Jim Carrey versions. But, especially how Jim Carrey sings it in the movie: "Your heart's an empty hole!”
What is the worst gift you’ve ever received?
Orion: A really sad looking goldfish.
Autumn: Socks?
Blackbird: I got a strawberry shortcake nighty when I was about 12 from a distant relative who had no idea I was much older than that.
Soto: The worst gift I’ve ever received from someone would have to be girls perfume. Now it is the thought that counts, thank you for the gift, but I’m not a girl... so next time cologne would be cool!
Are you on the naughty or nice list this year?
James Barmore: Total nice list!
Victor: If there is a list that includes those in between, put me on that one.
Blackbird: I'm on both naughty and nice lists with different stage names!
Autumn: Nice? Maybe? I hope so!
Orion: Nice, but I’m looking to make it on the naughty list asap!
Do you believe in Santa Claus? If so, did you ever receive any gifts from him?
Autumn: I believe in him, but he doesn't believe in me
Orion: I did until my mother and brother screwed me over “on accident”. My mom labeled all her gifts as from Santa, so yes?
Blackbird: Yes I believe in Santa! Years ago we got an anonymous gift basket with a gift certificate a few hundred dollars on our doorstep at the dance studio to me and my two babies. It was a gorgeous thing. Santa is real! It came right at a very needed time.
Have you ever been kissed under the mistletoe?
Ebony: I think by my mom…
Orion: Mistletoes are too hard to come by.
Victor: In high school.
Blackbird: I kissed a girl and I liked it! Mistletoe is a great gift to give your new️ love.
Soto: I have not been kissed under the mistletoe yet, BUT I did help my sister get kissed by drawing/coloring a mistletoe, taping it over the front door, and pointing it out to her and the guy she liked when he was leaving our house. I’m such a great brother.
What are your thoughts on eggnog? Is it “hmm yummy” or “eww.. get that away from me!"
Ebony: Yummy!
Victor: Nope to this one!
Blackbird: Eggnog is yummy with Rummy!
Orion: I recently started loving eggnog, both the naughty and nice kind!
Autumn: YUMYUMYUMYUMYUM MMMMMM
James Barmore: Actually had that for the first time not bad...with a little "kick".
Lastly, what is the one thing you are looking forward to in 2018?
James Barmore: Becoming an even better version of myself.
Blackbird: All of our EP's releasing new music 2018. I'm excited for the success of all of us and the enjoyment of sharing all that we accomplished in 2017.
Autumn: My EP! And more music! So. Much. Music.
Victor: Release of my EP, as well as Autumn Cymone's.
Orion: I’M TRYNA MAKE A TON OF MUSIC, DROP OUR EP, LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST!!!
