EDNA MONIQUE IS BACK...LIKE A TORNADO

Edna Monique has captivated audiences around the globe since age 17, beginning with the release of her first Latin album “La Flor” Con Mariachi Los Gavilanes (under former artistic name, Monica Ceballos).  La Opinión, the Spanish Editorial Section of The L.A. Times described her as “The Voice of Fine Velvet”.

Inspired by the music of predominant internationally renowned artists like Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Sade, Celine Dion, Freddie Mercury, and others, Edna Monique has received critical acclaim as a vocalist equally in the English and Latin markets.  She has worked with several Grammy award winning artists, musicians, and producers such as Homero Patron and Seth Riggs.

Edna Monique's success in music has been through sheer determination, resolute inner power and unwavering family support. Her talent seems effortless, but it didn't come without struggle. "Edna Monique was born with nemaline myopathy, a rare congenital neuromuscular disorder that causes severe muscle weakness. People with this disorder usually experience delayed motor development and weakness in the arm, leg, trunk, throat and face muscles. When she was three months old, Ceballos aspirated on her milk because of the weak muscles in her throat, causing both lungs to collapse. She was taken to Children's Hospital Los Angeles in critical condition. “She was really close to death when she arrived at the hospital,” recalled Edna’s mother, Maria Ceballos. “The doctors had to take drastic measures to save her.” READ MORE. Edna Monique is a walking miracle and an inspiration for us all. Through her health challenges, she has kept her focus on her gift and passion for music and has never asked for sympathy or pity. She just wants to share her gift with the world.

Edna Monique teamed up with InRage Entertainment to produce her newest single "Tornado". Edna Monique and InRage Vice President Ebony Vanderveer were colleagues at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music where they both studied opera voice. The bilingual Latin pop dance tune was co-written by Edna Monique and The Vanderveers and co-produced by Sony Music producer, Bruce "Automatic" Vanderveer.
